Rocker Tommy Lee’s Wife Brittany Furlan Rescues Dog from Coyote Attack in Shocking Video

In a heart-stopping incident caught on a Ring security camera, Brittany Furlan – internet personality, actor, comedian, and wife of Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee – saved their dachshund Neena from a coyote attack in broad daylight. The harrowing event occurred on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, in the backyard of the couple’s Woodland Hills home in Los Angeles.

Furlan shared the terrifying footage on her Instagram account, showing the moment that a coyote snatched Neena near their pool. The video captures Furlan’s frantic screams as she chases after the wild animal.

“Neena is safe,” Furlan reassured her followers. “I climbed up the wall and grabbed her out of its mouth. Thank God she’s a little bit fat because he couldn’t make it over the wall with her.”

Daytime Attack Raises Concerns

The incident happened around 1 PM, raising concerns about the increasing boldness of coyotes in urban areas. To heighten awareness among pet owners, still shaken by the experience, Furlan spoke about the frightening incident with Robert Kovacik of NBC 4 Los Angeles.

“We get lazy, and we go, ‘You know, it’s OK, it’s 1 o’clock in the afternoon, nothing’s going to happen,'” Furlan told the news station. “And this is what happens. Sometimes you just get too comfortable.”

Safety Tips

In light of this incident, experts recommend the following precautions for pet owners:

  1. Never leave small pets unattended outdoors, even during daylight hours.
  2. Secure your yard with high fences or walls.
  3. Keep pets indoors at night when coyotes are most active.
  4. Remove potential food sources that attract coyotes, such as pet food or unsecured trash.
  5. Install motion-sensitive lighting around the house.

A Happy Ending

Fortunately, Neena escaped the ordeal without injury. Furlan credits the dog’s extra weight for slowing down the coyote long enough for her to intervene. The incident serves as a stark reminder for pet owners to remain vigilant, even in seemingly safe environments.

As urban wildlife encounters become more common, stories like this underscore the importance of awareness and preparedness in protecting our furry family members.
