Boyle County Kentucky officials urge pet owners to get pets vaccinated for rabies
DANVILLE, Ky. (FOX 56) — After a lab-confirmed case of rabies was found in Marion County, nearby Boyle County leaders are urging the community to not panic but to take this as a warning to vaccinate their pets now.
Marion County Animal Control officials announced a case of rabies in Gravel Switch, just over the Boyle County line. A house dog was confirmed positive for rabies after it came in contact with an infected skunk in the yard.
Sissy Slone, the shelter director with Boyle County Animal Control, emphasized that there’s currently no need for Boyle County residents to worry about a rabies outbreak, but there is a need to get pets vaccinated now.
