The day will kick off at 9:00 am with donuts, served from an original Helm’s Bakery truck, and Rocky Kanaka’s Flip Coffee! Followed by a Blessing of the Animals and a Poker “Dog Pack” Walk – see our separate Poker “Dog Pack” Walk event page for information and ticket purchases. But even if you don’t have a dog to walk, please join us to celebrate all the animals you love!
Starting at 11:00 am our shelter is turning into a fun-filled festival venue complete with:
Games and activities for dogs and kids including an Agility Scramble (and don’t forget the fun prizes)
Artist booth for fun drawings of your furry friend
Dog Paw Print “Pawtrait” Art Creations (artwork suitable for framing courtesy of your dog’s creativity!)
Creative craft fun
100th Anniversary Celebration Photo Booth for the photogenic family
San Gabriel Police Department K-9 Unit
Chalk Drawing on the sidewalk and street in front of the shelter
Raffles
Music
Food Trucks – Dina’s Dumplings & Tropic Truck will be in our parking lot
Antique Cars
And of course everyone can visit our wonderful dogs, cats, and rabbits available for adoption!
Please wear closed-toe shoes as this is an outdoor event and some activities are in an open field area.
Registration for the Poker “Dog Pack” Walk includes a t-shirt for you (adult sizes only) and a bandana for your dog – as long as supplies last. So please register early to help ensure you get your 100th Anniversary goodies!
On-site registration will be available for $45 and include a t-shirt and bandana if supplies are available.
Please park on the streets near the shelter. Our parking lot and the street directly in front of the shelter are unavailable as they are part of the Celebration.
