Police union says animal control too slow in handling bitten officer

A Cincinnati police officer is undergoing a “painful” preventative rabies treatment after she was bitten by a dog, the police union said. The union claims some of the shots could have been avoided if Cincinnati’s animal control agency had acted more quickly.

Cincinnati Animal CARE said there was a delay due to circumstances outside of their control, but their standard operating procedures were followed.
