San Antonio officials warn of deadly parvovirus increasing in city
The San Antonio Animal Care Services is warning the community of the rise of the deadly parvovirus among dogs. ACS stressed the parvovirus is often fatal but preventable, according to a news release from the agency on Monday, April 22.
Parvovirus is highly contagious and most commonly affects puppies, but all unvaccinated dogs are susceptible. ACS is alerting the community as there is a low pet vaccination rate.
