Canines and Cats in Costumes for a Cause: Trupanion’s Halloween Pet Photo Contest Shines Light on Adoption
SEATTLE, October 18, 2024 – Trupanion’s Halloween-themed pet photo contest, the “Tricked Out for Treats Pet-tacular,” is a howling success as it purrs along towards a fur-bulous fright-fest finale when picks of the patch are announced in an online virtual celebration on October 30. A fast-growing parade of pets sporting their spooky best is casting a spell on hearts nationwide. Launched on October 1, the contest has already seen an impressive response, with hundreds of entries showcasing pets in their most adorable and ghoulish get-ups, competing for bragging rights as dominant dog or finest feline in the fur-ocious competition.
Contest by the Numbers
As of October 15, the contest has achieved significant milestones:
- Over 600 entries across all eight categories.
- 116 pets up for adoption featured in the “Adorable Adoptable” category.
- More than 20,000 votes cast so far.
The “Adorable Adoptable” category, specifically designed for shelters and rescues to showcase pets in need of forever homes, has become a highlight of the contest. With over 100 adoptable pets featured, the category is not just about cute costumes – it’s about giving these animals a chance at finding their perfect families.
Margi Tooth, CEO and President of Trupanion, expressed her enthusiasm about the contest’s progress: “The response from pet parents, animal shelters and rescue organizations nationwide has been truly remarkable. We knew Halloween captured imaginations but the responses from our community have gone above and beyond our expectations. It’s utterly entertaining seeing our pets turn into spooky characters, or just plain fun ones and I’m particularly inspired by all the submissions in our ‘Adorable Adoptable’ category. Where every vote and submission isn’t just a chance to win, it’s a chance to find these loveable pets new forever homes and that’s powerful.”
